💻 Membership Toolkit (MTK) Q&A 💻
General
Q: What is Membership Toolkit (MTK)?
A: Membership Toolkit is our all-in-one parent communication and engagement hub. It makes it easier than ever to:
-
Stay updated on events, fundraisers, and school activities
-
Sign up to volunteer
-
Join the PTO and purchase memberships
-
Access the online store and calendars
-
Receive notifications and reminders—all in one place
Q: Why should I register on the PTO/Parent Website?
A: Registering allows you to sign up for volunteer opportunities, join the PTO, order spirit wear and yearbooks, make a donation, access the student directory, and more. It also eliminates paperwork and check writing at the start of the school year. Teachers and room parents will also use MTK to communicate throughout the year.
Accounts & Login
Q: How do I create an account?
A: Follow these steps:
-
Go to the website and click the New User/Register button.
-
Add your family’s information.
-
Register to access newsletters, volunteer opportunities, and forms.
-
Join the PTO by selecting a membership type.
If you already have an MTK account with another organization, you can use the same login here.
Q: I forgot my password. How can I reset it?
A: On the login page, click Forgot Password. Enter your email, and a reset link will be sent to you.
Q: How can I change my password?
A: If logged in, click your name in the login box to access your profile and update your password. Or, use the Forgot Password option on the login page.
Q: I changed my email address. How do I update my login?
A: Log in with your current email, go to your Account Profile > Access tab, and invite your new email. Confirm via the invite link, then remove your old email from your profile.
Q: I don’t know my child’s teacher yet. Can I still register?
A: Yes! Create your account now and update your child’s teacher information later when it becomes available.
Q: Should my spouse/partner create a separate account?
A: One family account is recommended. You can add a secondary user with their own login. Both adults can access the same family account for purchases, forms, and volunteer sign-ups. Only two adults can be linked to one account.
Q: What if my child has more than two adults who want access?
A: MTK only allows two adults per account, but you can create additional linked accounts. Keep in mind that some forms (like membership) may need to be completed separately on each account.
Directory
Q: Why can’t I see the online student directory?
A: At least one PTA/PTO membership must be purchased on your account to access the directory. Memberships are completed through the Membership Form in your account.
Q: Who can view my family’s information?
A: Only members with a current membership can access the directory. You can control exactly which details (phone number, email, etc.) are visible by adjusting your privacy settings.
Q: How do I update my privacy preferences?
A: Go to your account settings and select what information you want to show or hide in the directory.
Purchases & Donations
Q: How do I make purchases (spirit wear, yearbooks, donations, etc.)?
A: After logging into your account, go to My Account > My Forms to find available purchase and donation options.
Q: What payment methods are available?
A: Online payments with credit card are accepted. Depending on your PTO, you may also have offline options like check or cash.
Q: Can I get a receipt for my purchases?
A: Yes, you’ll receive an email receipt automatically. You can also view order history under Orders in your account.
Volunteer & Events
Q: How do I sign up to volunteer?
A: Volunteer opportunities are listed on the website under forms and sign-up sections. Just log in and sign up.
Q: Why do I need to log in to volunteer or sign up for events?
A: Logging in ensures your sign-ups are tracked correctly, linked to your family account, and personalized to your commitments.
App & Tech Help
Q: Is there a mobile app?
A: Yes! The Membership Toolkit App is free in the Apple App Store and Google Play. Search “Membership Toolkit” and log in with your account. The app gives access to the directory, calendar, volunteer sign-ups, and purchases.
Q: I downloaded the app, but see “no organizations available.” What do I do?
A: First, log in through the organization’s website on your browser. Once your account is active, log back into the app, and your organization will appear.
Privacy & Support
Q: What if I don’t want my personal information visible?
A: You control your visibility settings. Even if you hide your details, you’ll still receive communications, newsletters, and updates.
